Fall 2015 Sculpture Area BFA Mid-Term Critiques

Penn State School of Visual Arts BFA students in the Sculpture area gather with Bonnie Collura, professor of art, and Graeme Sullivan, SoVA Director to discuss their work as part of the Sculpture area's mid-term critiques. A critical part of being a successful professional artist is being able to clearly articulate one's creations. To aid in honing those skills, an integral part of the learning process at Penn State School of Visual Arts is the critique ("crit"). During the critiquing process, students present their art to SoVA faculty and peers, describe the meanings and metaphors behind their work, and discuss with the group how the works might continue to grow and evolve.
