Mindi Rhoades gest lecture

Penn State SoVA is pleased to present guest lecturer Mindi Rhoades. Rhoades' lecture, titled Dramatic Inquiry for Arts-based Learning: Inter/Active Investigations of Cultural Discourses, Images, + Stories will take place October 10, 2016, at noon, in room 210 Patterson. This presentation includes an introduction to dramatic inquiry, its key components, general introductory activities and exercises, and examples in classroom practice. It will also include audience participation in an abbreviated collaborative dramatic inquiry session. All attendees are expected to actively participate in the activities, dialogue, and reflection. Activities will be very low impact.
  
Mindi Rhoades is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Teaching + Learning in the College of Education + Human Ecology at The Ohio State University. At OSU, she has worked with Stand Up for Shakespeare America (SUFSA) in partnership with The Royal Shakespeare Company; served as the art specialist at OSU’s Early Childhood Education demonstration school; and taught abroad through OSU’s partnership with the Indonesian University System. Her research and teaching interests include interdisciplinary arts-based research, teaching, learning, and activism; multiliteracies; critical multicultural and equity studies, contemporary art and visual culture. Mindi is interested in education that invigorates, challenges, inspires, and supports the success of ALL learners.
