The Pennsylvania State University

School of Visual Arts

Graduate Application

We look forward to serving you as you choose your pathway to your graduate education. SoVA offers graduate degrees in the areas of Art (MFA) and Art Education (MS, MPS, PhD). As a graduate student in the Penn State School of Visual Arts, you will be part of a community of nationally and internationally recognized artists and faculty dedicated to interdisciplinary experimentation and research that embodies art making, teaching, and design. We regret we are discontinuing the online Master of Professional Studies (MPS) in Art Education degree and are no longer accepting applications for admission.

While SoVA has its own deadlines and procedures for evaluating applications for our graduate programs, we recommend applicants for admission to the Graduate School. The Graduate School, in turn, monitors procedures and minimum requirements and makes the final decision on admission.

New PSU graduate applicants must first apply to Pennsylvania State University’s Graduate School. If you are ready to proceed to the application but have NOT read the Graduate School requirements, click here to visit their website. If you have read the Graduate School and program requirements and are ready to apply, click here to proceed to the application.
