Research Corner

Research animates all of Penn State’s learning communities. Within the School of Visual Arts the curiosity that drives the creative impulse is seen and felt in our studios, labs and classrooms. These are places that buzz with a continual search for new insights and follows many paths, makes use of multiple methods, and takes on a surprising array of forms. When experience is enlivened by imaginative inquiry the blend of ideas, images and actions that emerge creates new understandings from what we don’t know, which profoundly changes what we do know. This helps us respond intelligently and creatively to a world of continual change. What follows is a sample of the imaginative research undertaken by faculty and students from SoVA.
