Holly Veenis is a graduate student in pursuit of a Master of Fine Arts in photography. With a focus in photography she obtained her Bachelors of Art at Bridgewater College in 2014. She worked for James Madison University's marketing department for two years, taking photos of events, people and everyday life on campus. While at JMU, she taught a course on iPhoneography. The course aimed at improving photographic compositions and practices using only smart phone cameras. In her artistic life, Holly experiments with photography, primarily through the use of long exposure and layering. Both processes have an element of surprise that drives her work and creates vivid, chaotic images. Along with creating photos, she enjoys hiking along mountain trails, reading Harry Potter, and doodling in her notes.
