Jean Sanders

Biography

Jean Sanders works are a synthesis between digital conception and traditional print processes. The images are conceived digitally but the final work is a handmade labor of love, the photogravure. Her subject matter often has to do with her love of animals, her yogic understanding of "stilling the fluctuations of the mind" and the craft of printmaking. In all of her artistic pursuits, the idea of quieting the wild mind through dedication and discipline is the guiding principle. The result is a reflection of the soul. Ultimately her artistic quest is spiritual in nature. Jean received her BFA in Printmaking at Southern Illinois University and her MFA in printmaking at The University of Wisconsin‚ Madison.
