Each year the College Art Association conference provides a great opportunity for SoVA alumni, faculty, and friends to reunite. New York City (this year’s conference location) provided the perfect backdrop to reconnect and learn about recent SoVA happenings, as well as to celebrate accomplishments. This year, SoVA hosted its reception in the Driscoll Babcock Galleries. A strong turnout of SoVA alumni, friends, and faculty were in attendance at the event.
During the conference, Professor Graeme Sullivan, SoVA Director, gave a response paper, Crit-Space as a Research Place, as part of a panel of seven presenters on the topic, Beyond Good or Bad: Practice-Derived Epistemologies of Studio Critique. Also, Professor Carlos Rosas was appointed to the Board of Directors of the New Media Caucus (NMC), an international non-profit association formed to promote the development and understanding of new media art. .
